Ein eindrucksvolles Exemplar einer patriotischen Taschenuhr aus dem 1. Weltkrieg kann hier gezeigt werden: - Ein Etui mit der Aufschrift ‘Weihnachten im Felde 1916, 4. Inf. Regt. 103’ - Rückdeckel der Uhr mit dem kaiserlichen Reichsadler mit der Kaiserkrone - Inschrift: ‘Wir Deutsche fürchten Gott, aber sonst nichts auf der Welt’ - dazu ein Leder-Etui-Armband Dieses Zitat eines Ausspruchs von Bismarck ist gekürzt um den Nachsatz: ‘Aber wir sind gottesfürchtig genug, um den Frieden zu lieben’. Später hat Bismarck diesen Ausspruch wegen des chauvinistischen Misbrauchs bereut. Einsatz:

(Christmas in the battle fields 1916), the back shows the imperial eagle
with the imperial crown and the text:: ‘Wir Deutsche fürchten Gott,
aber sonst nichts in der Welt’ (We Germans
are afraid of God and nothing else of the World), together with
the leather arm strap.
There were as well wristwatches for the German troops, such as the so called 'Schuetzengraben Uhren' with a shield over the glass. - The advertisements offers military watches directly shipped into the fields only by prepayments! The foto shows the Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II. in field uniform and his pocket watch in a leather arm strap at his hand. |
